In 2009, David opened his own studio doing freelance sculpting & painting. RICHARDSON STUDIO has worked hard to provide quality sculpting for any need. Richardson Studio has covered all areas from animals to aliens, monsters to cowboys. Richardson Studio has worked with world-class sculptors Kent Ullberg and Fritz White as well as celebrities like the famous movie director and author Clive Barker. David has even had the opportunity to sculpt with the SPFX and Halloween prop company Distortions Unlimited in Greeley, CO. David will be featured as a sculptor on the hit television show, "Making Monsters" on the Travel Channel. Richardson Studio is always accepting commissions and will travel. Here at Richardson Studio things are moving very fast. Summer is here and time flies when you're having fun, right? I've been creating like a mad man and the projects just keep coming. It's a great feeling to be so productive with art. I figured it's about time to update my journal and let you all know whats going on. Richardson Studio meets Clive Barker

Greetings Boils and Ghouls,
After 4 long months I'm happy to announce my sculpture for Clive Barker is complete! This sculpture has taken me on quite a journey into the unknown. I had to complete this sculpture in many, many steps making it very frustrating at times. The biggest challenge was fabricating a plastic collar and connecting that to the cast resin and then connecting the tubes. The tubes had to be cut in the mold and then reconnected at the very end. They had to connect from the back of Christopher Carrion's head to the back of the plastic collar. I used plenty of epoxy and Apoxie Sculpt. I had to be very careful with the paint jo

Two weeks ago I got the go ahead from Clive Barker to begin sculpting "Christopher Carrion" a character from ABARAT! It's a great feeling of excitement. I am very grateful for this project as I've been a fan of Clive's work since childhood. If you haven't read ABART you must! I purchased it from ITunes (audio book) and I will have to say Clive has only gotten better! This series is absolutely stunning. His ability to take you on a visionary adventure is one of a kind.
